Sport BOP celebrated our local sports people - players, officials and volunteers - at their annual awards evening on Friday 18 November.

Eves Realty Junior Sportswoman of the Year: Amy Robinson - Hockey and Athletics
Service to Sport
Bay of Plenty Secondary Schools Principals’ Association Secondary School Service to Sport: Sandy Kindley - Katikati College
Dudfield Bryce Printers Open Service to Sport: Bill Webb - Hockey
Other finalists from our community were Frances Davies for Junior Sportswoman of the Year and Hugh Lees for Secondary School Student Contribution to Sports.
Sport BOP reported on the evening as follows:
“International hockey umpire Kelly Hudson was awarded the Bay of Plenty Times Official of the Year award after officiating an Olympic Games quarter final and the final of the FIH World Champions Trophy.
The Dudfield Bryce Printers Service to Sport category acknowledged people [Bill Webb] who have been involved in their chosen sport for at least 10 years and have made a significant contribution at either regional or national level.”
