Year 5-8 Term 2 Development Programme 2026​​​​​​​

What is the programme?

Tauranga Hockey will run a 7-week Development Programme for Year 5–8 players in Term 2. Each one-hour session is open to all aspiring hockey players and will focus on fundamental skills, principles of play, decision-making, and small-sided gameplay.

Who can join?

Years 5-8 at school. Field players only

When?

The programme runs on Tuesdays during Term 2.

Time: 4 - 5pm 

Cost: $140

2026 Year 7/8 4-week training block and Introduction to 11 Aside Festival ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Players will be introduced to 11-aside hockey and test themselves against teams from Waikato, Rotorua, Whakatane, Taupo, and Thames Valley. It is a two-day festival, with day one being 7-aside and day two being 11-aside. Players will be placed in teams after the development training.  There will be Boy's and Girl's Grades. For field players and goalkeepers.

Teams will travel to Hamilton on both days, no accomodation is arranged.

Cost

$150 includes tournament costs, training 

days and a playing shirt. Please check the size chart below before registering
