What is the programme?

Tauranga Hockey will run a 7-week Development Programme for Year 7–8 players in Term 2. Each one-hour session is open to all aspiring hockey players and will focus on fundamental skills, principles of play, decision-making, and small-sided gameplay.

Who can join?

Years 7-8 at school. Field players only

When?

The programme runs on Mondays during Term 2.

Time: 3:45-4:45 pm

Year 5-6 Term 2 Development Programme 2026​​​​​​​

What is the programme?

Tauranga Hockey will run a 7-week Development Programme for Year 5-6 players in Term 2. Each one-hour session is open to all aspiring hockey players and will focus on fundamental skills, principles of play, decision-making, and small-sided gameplay.

Years 7-8 at school. Field players only

When?

The programme runs on Tuesdays during Term 2.

Time: 3:45-4:45 pm

2026 Year 7/8 4-week training block and Introduction to 11 Aside Festival

The year 7/8 training block and festival allows players to finish the season in style. Players will be introduced to 11-aside hockey and test themselves against teams from Waikato, Rotorua, Whakatane, Taupo, and Thames Valley. It is a two-day festival, with day one being 7-aside and day two being 11-aside. Players will be placed in teams after the development training.  There will be Boy's and Girl's Grades. For field players and goalkeepers.
