Year 5/6 Term 2 Development Programme 2025

What is the programme?

Tauranga Hockey will deliver a seven-week year 5-6 Development Programme in Term 2. These sessions are open to all aspiring hockey players and will focus on fundamental skills, principles of play, decision-making, and small gameplay. 

Who can join?

You must be in years 5-6 at school. Field players only

When?

The programme runs in term 2, on the following dates:

• Tuesday, May  13, 20, 27, June 3, 10, 17, 24 
• Time: 1 hour session between 3:50-5:50 pm (times to be confirmed when registration closes, depending on numbers) The times will depend on the number of participants. If we have a large turnout for both the 5-6 and 7-8 age groups, the times will be as follows: 3:50-4:50 PM for the 5-6 group and 4:50-5:50 PM for the 7-8 group. However, if the number of participants is low, we can run both groups simultaneously from 4:30 to 5:30 PM. We won't know the final schedule until registrations

Cost: $140

2025 Year 5-6 4-week training block and Festival

The year 5-6 training block and festival allow players to finish the season in style. Players will play hockey 5s festival with teams from Thames Valley. After the development training, players will be placed in teams. There will be Boy's and Girl's Grades.
