Cancellations for Summer Hockey

If a summer hockey night is cancelled due to the weather, then it will be posted here by 2pm on the scheduled day of play and on our social media - Facebook and Instagram.

Cancellation Protocols for Intermediate/ Primary Schools and Funsticks

Hockey is an all-weather, winter game. Games are played in the rain if the turfs are playable. If the rain becomes an issue causing flooding on the turfs then the coordinator onsite at Blake Park will make a decision about cancellations if needed throughout the morning.

At satellite venues it will be the responsibility of coaches/managers to decide if turfs are unplayable and advise the draw steward via text as to what has happened for each game.

Funsticks cancellations will be notified here.

Cancellations for Club and College - Game by Game, Turf by Turf

For club and college competition games: if there are major storms due the Competition Administrator can decide to notify that the whole night of competition has been cancelled before the start of games.

Alternatively if the rain radar shows that the bad weather will come and go, then cancellations may be on a game by game, turf by turf basis with umpires and the competition coordinator deciding on the state of the turfs.
