Tauranga Hockey CoachForce & Officiating Development Officer - Kelly Hudson

The key task of the CoachForce & Officiating Development Officer (CODO) is to establish a framework for Coaching, Umpiring and Officiating Hockey in Tauranga.

Kelly will work closely with the Officiating Committee to support our volunteers, and will look to create pathways and assist in facilitating development opportunities for our hockey community.

Kelly has a strong background in Sports Administration having previously worked at Hockey New Zealand and in the Administration role at Tauranga Hockey. Kelly is also an FIH Coach Educator, Hockey NZ Trainer, Sport BOP Develop Advance Coach and Sport New Zealand Coach Developer.

Kelly also has a wealth of experience in Hockey, starting as a representative player, then taking up umpiring as a way to further enhance knowledge of the game. Kelly progressed through supported opportunities, developing a healthy understanding of the process of umpire development throughout New Zealand.

Receiving her international badge in 2005, Kelly is currently in the leading panel of international umpires worldwide. With three Olympic Games, three World Cups and three Champions Trophies as well as Pro League Games, World League Competitions and Continental Championships under her belt, Kelly has a vast level of understanding around the officiating space at the highest level.

Kelly has also contributed as Umpire Manager at numerous National Age Group Tournaments over the past 15 years, and is recognised as one of the premier umpire coaches in New Zealand.

Passionate about all levels of officiating and extremely proud of this region, Kelly is excited to progress the officiating space within Tauranga Hockey.
