ADULT MIXED 5 ASIDE - SOCIAL ADVANCED

• 5 a-side competitive hockey
  
• 2x 20min games of hockey against two different teams on half field, with a focus on fun!
• 8 week league
• First round starts 6.30pm
• Starts on Thursday 16 October 2025
• $420 per team
• Teams must have 3 or more registered club players from Intercity, Division 1 Women/Men from 2025 on the field at any one time.
• Teams must be mixed gender, with a minimum of 2 women on the turf at all times
• This division is not for players who are new to hockey
• Minimum age requirement: Year 13 and over
• Umpires may be provided
• Goalkeepers are allowed as the 5th player
• Shin pads and mouthguards are compulsory

RULES

• Shinpads and mouthguards are compulsory
• Players must behave responsibly at all times
• Normal rules of hockey apply
• If there are GKs in both teams:
  • Penalty Corners may be played if agreed prior - 1 player from the defending team is required to stand in the opposition circle
• ​​​​​​​If teams do not wish to play PCs, or if one or both teams do not have GKs, a free hit to the attacking team will be awarded to be taken as per long corner rules (i.e. ball must travel 5m, passed to a team-mate or be touched by a defender prior to being played into the circle)
• Mercy Rule: We don't keep results in summer hockey but if a team is winning substantially i.e. by more than 9 goals which makes the game very lopsided, then upon agreement from both teams, the disadvantaged team may put on an extra player or two i.e. instead of 5 players, play 6 or 7 players to make the game experience more enjoyable
• Focus is on fun!
